Siem Reap, an incredible town in Cambodia that draws in tourists from all over the world. With development on the rise and the town becoming increasingly more urban, there are a ton of hotels to choose from. If you are looking for the ultimate relaxation getaway, at the hotel closest to Angkor Wat temple, then look no further! Le Meridien Angkor is the place for you.
Upon arrival at Le Meridien Angkor, you are immediately greeted by the friendly tellers and shown to the grand lobby entrance. Once there, the concierge gifts you with a traditional Cambodian scarf, along with a welcoming cocktail. Instantly, you are made to feel important and it certainly resonates. As with all Le Meridien hotels, the lobby gracefully displays local art, which is one particular touch we love. It shows how important it is to support the local community and to highlight the local art talent of Siem Reap.

THE HOTEL
The grounds of the hotel are very large, with a design aesthetic imitating the incredible Ankor Wat Temple. The large square building consists of 3 stories, the second and third holding the rooms. At the back of the hotel lies the pool, one of our favourite parts of the hotel! With Mayan influence, the pool is an architectural dream. Further, at the back of the pool you will find the 24 hour gym, in conjunction with the incredible spa facilities Le Meridien is known for. One highlight of the grounds is the beautiful palm garden. This large green lawn and towering palm tree forest is treat to walk around after a day of exploring the bustling city.
The Rooms: There are three types of rooms and they are all equally exquisite. Ranging from standard, deluxe and family, each room displays an elegant look. The double beds are large and each room is very spacious. The family rooms are as you expect very large and are able to accommodate up to 4 people, great for any family holiday. Each bathroom is equipped with a a large bath tub and all the amenities you would ever need to feel at home. One cool addition to the rooms, is that each guest is provided with a free ticket to the local art museum. Therefore, if you ever have a free afternoon, you can make your way there to enjoy some art!

THE FOOD
The breakfast buffet at Le Meridien Angkor is something to die for! Starting at 6 am until 10 am, you are spoiled with choice at this incredible breakfast buffet. From bacon, breakfast sausages and sautéed potatoes, eggs cooked to order, yogurt, fruit, smoothies. Even cheese boards, breads of all sort, even a juice stand, you name it they pretty much had it. The two of us were pleasantly overwhelmed by the large variety to choose from. We often joked that we would try everything, we felt as though we were going to pop! If you are staying at Le Meridien then the buffet is a must!
L’Angelo
We were fortunate enough to enjoy a lovely meal at the hotels Italian restaurant called L’Angelo Northern Italian Cuisine & Wines. The menu features a variety of dishes, but for us we decided to go with the Italian set menu. Consisting of –
Bistrot Style Beef Pot Au Feu Salad
Onion Soup Gratineed
Stuffed Chicken & Confite Cherry Tomatoes on Fettuccini Alfredo
OR
Grilled Sea Bass Ratatouille & Caper Butter Sauce
Green Apple Sorbet with Green Apple Chips
Overall, the meal was incredible! Each dish not only tasted amazing, but the presentation was impeccable. It was lovely having the flavours of Italy in the middle of Cambodia.
