CLOUD 9 CAFE
One of the most notable highlights about Home @ 9 is that there is an amazing cafe attached. This cafe serves up some of the most delicious coffee, and food we have had in a while. I am pretty sure we had tried just about every item on the menu and can honestly say you can’t go wrong. Our favourites were the chicken burger, Penang curry, tom yum noodles, and the grilled chicken salad. For dinner be sure to try those ribs and the jackfruit pulled pork burger! They are so tasty you will think you are eating real meat! For a cool down we recommend you try an iced cappuccino, or their famous iced mango coffee drink. My mouth is still watering just thinking about it!
The cafe has seating both inside and out on the patio, overlooking the rice fields, thus making it a relaxing space to enjoy some food and work.
The Piano
One of the most iconic things about Home @ 9 is that it has a piano in the middle of the rice field! That’s right a piano! It is such a unique addition to Home @ 9 and makes it a popular destination amongst passers by looking for that perfect Instagram shot!

THINGS TO DO
The village surrounding the property also has a lot to offer. With dozens of different coffee shops and local markets you can surely have a busy day out. Home @ 9 has complimentary bikes for guests to use to explore. We highly recommend that you take a day to get out and get lost. Below are a few things you can do!
Visit the Local Temple
This local temple is spectacular! Once inside, you can admire the detailed paintings along the walls. It is a great hidden gem right in the middle of town.
Chicken Rice
For breakfast one morning we ventured to the famous chicken rice stall. They serve up a killer plate of food. You can get the chicken deep fried style, or traditional style. Both amazing! This is a great place to stop off in the middle of the day if you fancy a snack.
Night Market
Every Wednesday night, there is a local night market with stalls lined with various foods/clothing. It will cost about 100 baht via grab each way to get there from Home @ 9, but it is so worth it! We tried a variety of unique dishes ranging from dumplings, to pork rice, and even fish skewers!
John’s Succulents
If you like plants and particularly succulents, then this is the place for you! John himself plants each succulent with great passion. His garden is green to the brim and absolutely beautiful. Both him and his partner also have a pretty amazing coffee shop attached as well. We enjoyed iced lattes on the patio of his place overlooking the gorgeous rice fields. You must visit him when you are there, he is such a friendly character!
Drip Coffee
There is another amazing coffee shop not too far from the Home @ 9 property. Within an old barn style building you can find some great coffee, juices, baked goods and a surplus of books. The owner also has two adorable dogs! This was such a good place to stop off in the late afternoon to enjoy a coffee and a book!
Handicrafts Wood Center
If you have an appreciation for art and particularly wood carving, this is a must stop on your stay! This handicraft wood centre is home to some beautifully intricate wood pieces. With stalls lined with various specialties, you can stroll through and admire the artistry around you.
Overall we loved our stay here, it was a great chance for us to escape the city and both crack down on some much needed R&R and work. From relaxing in the pool to each meal in the cafe being incredible, we can’t recommend this place enough. We loved that we got to experience a traditional Thai community which Home @ 9 really cares for and supports. If you are a digital nomad or not, and you happen to be in Chiang Mai, definitely check out Home @ 9.
