Romantic Valentine’s Day Date Ideas – It’s the season of love and a great opportunity to tell you’re significant other how much they mean to you. Valentine’s Day is often referred to as a ‘Hallmark Holiday’ and while it can seem a bit cheesy at times, it’s really just a great excuse to plan something special for your partner.
Typically speaking, we would recommend booking a weekend away somewhere special or going out to a movie, but considering the times, we are all having to adapt.
Below are some romantic, cute and fun date ideas for you to try out this year! All can be done within the comfort of your home or safely nearby.
Plan a Picnic
Quality time together is important on Valentine’s Day and what a better thing to do than plan a picnic. Grab your favourite snacks, sweet treats and drinks and set up a cosy picnic! You can lay out a blanket at a local park, beach, or even your backyard.
DIY Fondue Night
Fondue is such a fun and interactive way to eat and the easiest thing to do at home. Get yourself a hot pot and melt some cheese! We like to add chopped up bread, veggies and chips. For dessert, try melting some chocolate and dipping in fresh fruit like strawberries!
Couples Massages
Unfortunately this year it is likely not possible to book in a massage somewhere, but that doesn’t mean you can’t set one up at home! Get yourself comfortable and grab some coconut oil. Massages are a great way to release tension and show your partner you love them!
Cook Your Favorite Meal
Nothing says ‘I love you’ like a delicious home-cooked meal and a glass of wine! Set up the dining table a bit extra and cook something that you may not normally take the time to whip up on a regular weekday.
At Home Paint N’ Sip
Paint n’ sip classes have become the new craze pre-lockdown. People would go and take painting lessons whilst drinking a bottle of their favourite wine! But just because they may be closed doesn’t mean you can’t set up your own at home. Grab some canvas’ and paints and your nicest bottle of red and paint n’ sip together.
Movie Marathon
We recently came up with a fun way to avoid the 2-hour movie decision making time.. Simply throw in a couple of genres and films into a hat and draw! It will make it so much easier and fun too! A romantic movie night with popcorn and candy is such a fun activity to do on Valentine’s Day.
Write Love Letters
This one may sound a bit cheesy but hear me out! We started a tradition where each Valentine’s Day we write each other a love letter, reminiscing about things we appreciate or love about our partner. We then put it away and hide it for next Valentine’s Day. The following year we get to wake up and read the love letter we wrote to one another a year ago! Super cute and romantic.
Cook Breakfast in Bed
If dinner isn’t your thing, plan a cosy breakfast in bed instead! Some pancakes, fruit, and coffee are all of your essentials for the ultimate breakfast in bed.
Go on a Hike or Walk
Getting fresh air has proved to be essential this year. Take time to stand on your feet and find a local scenic hike to take your partner. If you live close to a beach, this is a great chance to get your feet sandy and hold hands.
Set Up A Bubble Bath
Baths are so relaxing and a great way to be romantic on Valentine’s Day. Find some soothing bath salts and if you’re feeling extra add in some rose petals and you have yourself a gorgeous bath.
We hope that these ideas can help you plan a 10 Valentine’s Day Date Ideas for your significant other. Always remember that usually, quality time is always more meaningful than any gifts. Valentine’s Day is a day to spread love and tell your partner how much they mean to you.
